Principle of operation: the bullet hits the hard ballistic plate, deforms, breaks and shatters but remains in the ballistic plate. It is not necessary to wear a soft bulletproof vest underneath. This plate carrier with Stand Alone ballistic plates can be worn over a T-shirt or combat shirt. No significant traumatic injury due to bullet impact.
