Third World War coming nuclear attack war in Belgium
Third World War imminent nuclear attack war in Belgium and the Netherlands. Putin's update of the nuclear doctrine and expected terrorist attacks. Preparation and protection. Update 18/09/2026

Trump's threats weaken NATO
On the one hand, US President Donald Trump has made Europe stronger, but on the other hand, NATO's credibility is eroding due to his numerous threats against his European partners. This projects weakness that is being exploited by the Russians!
Several intelligence services warn!
Several intelligence services warn that a Russian attack on a NATO country or a major escalation of hybrid warfare is imminent. The most recent reports speak of a drone attack on Poland or Lithuania. The CIA warns of a drone attack on Spain, France, or Italy from a container ship in the Mediterranean.
Intelligence services reported a major increase in hospital beds at the Russian border with Poland and Lithuania near the Suwałki Gap. This could indicate preparation, but no large quantities of blood had yet been delivered to the hospitals, which in turn suggests that an attack is not expected within the first 10 days.
US NATO Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, General Alexus Grynkewich, responded with a sharp warning to anyone foolish enough to attack NATO. There is clearly a difference between the US military commitment to Europe and the rhetoric coming from the White House.
Several cargo ships have already been hit by a drone in the Black Sea off the Bulgarian and Romanian coasts while sailing in European territorial waters. NATO is sending additional patrol aircraft, radar systems, and drones to the region.
Russian nuclear doctrine update
The update to the Russian nuclear doctrine has made it clear that Russia can use nuclear weapons first!
Russian Nuclear Preventive Strike
The benefits for the Russians if they attack first with nuclear weapons or a “Nuclear Preventive Strike” are somewhat downplayed by Western countries. But if Russia destroys a small, important NATO country first with nuclear weapons, no one can guarantee 100% that the rest of the NATO countries will deploy the agreed “Second Strike Capability” to also attack Russia with nuclear weapons in retaliation. In the current relationship between Europe and America, this is even highly doubtful.
Belarus and the Oreshnik hypersonic missiles
The Oreshnik hypersonic missiles are considered by Putin to be a superweapon against which Europe has no protection. By firing these nuclear hypersonic attack weapons from Belarus, NATO is forced to respond to Belarus, and Moscow escapes a nuclear counterattack.
Some strategists claim that NATO's response would then be with conventional weapons, but how objective is this and how afraid is Putin of that? Of course, Russia could be attacked with conventional weapons in response, such as sinking the Russian Navy, but well, it's just lying uselessly in the Russian ports now, so... what does it matter to Putin?
The Russian preventive nuclear strike is now also causing fear within NATO because during the Cold War plans were ready and Russian soldiers were trained to use nuclear weapons in conflict with NATO fairly quickly in the event of war. In this scenario, they would first attack strategic locations in Europe with nuclear weapons thereby significantly limiting NATO's conventional means. It was assumed that a nuclear attack over Western Europe would cause such panic that there would hardly be any military resistance left. Russia would then conquer the remaining areas that had not yet been contaminated with radioactive fallout using tanks.
Attack with a nuclear EMP weapon
A new threat that might be more realistic than a large-scale nuclear war could come from an EMP weapon (Electromagnetic Pulse) that burns out all electrical components in the vicinity. An EMP weapon can be a man-made EMP (smaller weapons) or a military nuclear EMP weapon. A simulation of detonating a nuclear EMP bomb (a nuclear bomb at high altitude or Russian nuclear weapons in space) shows that this can have severe consequences. Not only because the entire electrical grid is completely destroyed in an instant, but also due to the failure of various systems that rely on working electrical components, such as hospitals, water purification, factories, all transport, agricultural machinery, … and even nuclear power plants. Repairing all burned-out electric motors, transformers, and electrical controls could take months. Electricity, gas, and water could be out for months in such scenarios. Hence, an emergency kit to survive for at least three days. In the event of a military nuclear EMP explosion, various weapon systems could also be severely damaged, to the extent that the military could be completely paralyzed and no longer have the ability to strike back. Protect your electronic equipment such as an emergency radio and emergency generator against an EMP bomb! Wrap it in aluminum foil or store it in a grounded metal cabinet.
Attack with a nuclear torpedo
One of the latest new nuclear weapons is the Russian nuclear torpedo Poseidon which is detonated underwater off the coast of a particular country, causing a tsunami that floods the entire coastline. If a Russian 2-megaton nuclear Poseidon torpedo were to detonate off the Belgian coast near Blankenberge, a meters-high tidal wave of radioactive water would flood a large part of West Flanders and, via the Western Scheldt, also submerge a large part of Antwerp. An emergency flood kit would then be a good choice for anyone living by the sea.
Unconventional nuclear weapons
Unconventional nuclear weapons are portable nuclear bombs, dirty nuclear bombs, or other tactical nuclear bombs where there is no immediate indication of who detonated the nuclear bomb. If a portable nuclear bomb were to detonate in Kyiv or a nuclear power plant were to be detonated, Russia would deny that they detonated it. There would be no evidence of a missile or aircraft that launched the nuclear bomb. If there were no certainty that Russia, North Korea, Iran, or another group was behind the nuclear explosion, there would also be no counterattack.
If a cargo ship dropped a nuclear bomb in the North Sea and it detonated a month later, there would also be no evidence that Russia was behind the nuclear explosion, and therefore no nuclear counterattack would occur.
End of the START nuclear weapons treaty between Russia and America
The end of the START treaty on nuclear weapons between Russia and America heralds a new era of a nuclear arms race. The old START treaty was already no longer followed by the Russians and the Americans. The United States wants a new nuclear weapons treaty that also involves China, but China wants as many nuclear weapons as America and is nowhere near that yet. Several countries want to modernize or expand their nuclear arsenals.
Putin cornered
Ukraine is receiving technical support from a number of highly technical companies from America and Europe, allowing Ukraine's AI-powered drones to slip through Russian air defenses and cause severe damage in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Russia is responding with heavy ballistic missiles on Kyiv.
This is an escalation, and after heavy ballistic missiles, there is only one step higher, and that is ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads or tactical nuclear weapons. Although a number of military strategists also bring up the option of chemical and biological weapons as an intermediate step, these do not have the shock effect of a nuclear weapon.
The advanced AI drones from Kyiv, made with Western support, are putting the Russians in a difficult position, and fears are growing that Russia will at some point resort to a nuclear weapon on Kyiv.
If Putin were to fire a tactical nuclear weapon on Kyiv, the Chinese would withdraw their support for Moscow. India and Pakistan would also withdraw their support for Moscow. President Trump would probably not respond to President Putin, and the English nuclear submarines are lying on the dry for repairs. France alone would also not respond. If the Russians use a nuclear weapon in Ukraine, there is a high chance that apart from some political condemnation, no one will respond militarily.
A nuclear war cannot happen because…?
Several researchers claim that a nuclear war cannot break out because even the smallest use of a nuclear weapon will escalate to a larger nuclear conflict where everyone is destroyed. Unfortunately, this line of thinking only applies to rational people and not to impulsive people who might see an escape in a new apocalyptic vision where large numbers of people can be sacrificed to maintain power.
So there is an advantage for the Russians in attacking first with nuclear weapons!
The chance of a nuclear conflict with Russia has never been so great.
Russia is de facto at war with NATO
According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Russia is de facto at war with NATO. On Russian state television, conversations are held weekly about how to attack NATO countries with nuclear weapons. The Russian criticism that NATO will then strike back with nuclear weapons is downplayed. The Russian population is being prepared to go along with a rhetoric of a major war with nuclear weapons against NATO. This puts Russia in the thought process where the use of nuclear weapons becomes a matter of course.
Russia may have lost a lot of (old) tanks in Ukraine, but new tanks are rolling out of Russian weapons factories daily. In addition, Russia has a lead with hypersonic missiles while European laser weapons as protection against them are still in the development phase. The Russian defense industry has focused on the production of the weapon systems that are most efficient in the war against Ukraine, such as the Geran-5 drones.
The year 2027 is being looked forward to with fear, where not all new weapon systems have been delivered to NATO countries yet and there is still a shortage of weapons while Russian hybrid warfare and Russian sabotage attacks on European weapons companies, transport, and energy infrastructure occur more and more often.
Belgium now has a new nuclear and radiological emergency plan according to the Royal Decree of June 16, 2024, where the plan Plan SHIELD focuses on large-scale military and hybrid threats. New in this is that Belgian Defense is now structurally and proactively embedded in the national security chains.
The updated emergency plans contain very specific and direct measures for the population. The National Crisis Centre (NCCN) has launched the campaign "Together Prepared". Hereby, concrete measures are expected from citizens to increase their own safety:
1- Make your own emergency plan for if a nuclear attack comes! Citizens must make arrangements in advance with family members (who picks up the children, where do you meet if the network goes out).
2- Every Belgian must have an emergency kit. The emergency kit 2026 is specifically aimed at being able to survive outside for 72 hours and is just like the Belgian Crisis Centre prescribes separate from or a supplement to the household emergency kit.
Only 30% of Dutch people have emergency kit supplies at home, and only 12% have a complete emergency kit to survive for 72 hours!
In Belgium, this figure is significantly lower, and it is estimated that only 4% of the population has an emergency kit at home! There was a slight increase in the sale of small emergency kits due to a promotion by the Belgian Red Cross, which brought a basic emergency kit to market for 154.95 euros. However, this basic emergency kit from the Red Cross does not contain water or emergency food to survive for 72 hours and therefore cannot be considered a complete emergency kit. The argument that no ready-made emergency kits are available in Belgium is complete nonsense.
link to Emergency Kits Belgium and Red Emergency Kits for 72-Hour Survival
The general rule for an emergency kit is to ensure that you can survive for 72 hours without electricity, gas, water, or internet. It is also important to bear in mind that payment systems may fail. Social contact with neighbors and paying with cash can solve many problems. Keep in mind that in a crisis, everything will become much more expensive!
3- Sign up for BE-Alert: Citizens are required/strongly urged to register for the national BE-Alert warning system. In the event of a crisis, the government activates this platform to send location-based SMS messages, emails, or voice calls with immediate instructions.
Other European countries are going even further with their emergency planning and are effectively preparing their populations for military conflict with Russia.
War Emergency Kit 2026
The war emergency kit differs from the general emergency kit recommended by Europe and contains more items for personal protection against aggression and for surviving for 72 hours in a bunker. The war emergency kit can be based on the current situation in Ukraine, where people may be without electricity, gas, or water for extended periods. In some countries, this is taken even further, and it is anticipated that there will be a sudden, massive increase in the number of reservists, leading to a major shortage of military equipment.

For Belgium, this would mean that everyone of conscription age should have their own military equipment in Multicam or Woodland camouflage in their emergency kit.
The Belgian Army's Multicam equipment may not be sold to private individuals, but the UF-PRO equipment is of comparable quality and is a good alternative that is widely used on the front line in Ukraine.
Multicam is the Belgian Army's new camouflage color. The Multicam camouflage color is protected by an American patent, is widely used for the latest types of military clothing, and is generally more expensive than Woodland camouflage. Multicam is lighter in color and better suited to dry scrubland and urban environments. Link to our Multicam military equipment.
Operation Camo is a cheaper alternative to Multicam and is often used for airsoft and other outdoor activities. Link to our Operation Camo military equipment page
Belgian Woodland camouflage color was and is still used to a limited extent by the Belgian Army. It is the Belgian Army's old camouflage color, which is better suited to green, wooded areas such as those in the Belgian countryside and forests. Many former military personnel or people who have already completed their compulsory military service still have Belgian Woodland clothing at home. The Woodland camouflage color is not patented and is widely used for simple clothing designs, making military equipment in Woodland color generally cheaper than Multicam. Link to our Woodland military equipment. Most countries on NATO's eastern flank use camouflage patterns with bright green tones, and in the wooded areas of Norway, Finland, or the Baltic states, the Woodland camouflage pattern offers better protection than the lighter Multicam. Limited series of modern military clothing, specifically in Woodland camouflage color, are now available on the market. It is clear that a military conflict in Europe will be fought more in the green forests along the Russian border than in the coyote sandboxes of the Middle East.
Coyote color equipment is sometimes combined with Woodland equipment. Coyote is better suited to sandy or desert environments, such as coastal areas. Link to our Coyote military equipment.
No permit is required for private individuals or ordinary citizens to purchase a military bulletproof vest in a camouflage color, and it is legally permitted!
Emergency kit in two parts for 2026
The Belgian government is intervening and splitting the emergency kit into two parts. The basic emergency kit for home and a flight backpack intended to be taken during a flight or evacuation to a safer location.

In the event of a fire, flood, or aggression, you should have all your belongings in a flight backpack to flee or evacuate to an emergency shelter such as a basement, underground garage, sports hall, or tent camp. With a flight backpack, you can survive independently for 72 hours, and it is a supplement to or part of the general larger emergency kit.
German bunker plan.
The German government is already preparing the German Army and German territory for World War III and has already started a bunker plan to map all available bunkers so that the population can take shelter in the event of a war with Russia.
The new Belgian government has not provided a bunker plan, and the proposed procedure is: take shelter wherever you can! There are plans in which the Belgian government is looking at Eastern European models such as underground garages that can function as public shelters, but this is not yet an operational nationwide plan. For now, the Belgian Government prefers that everyone takes shelter in their own home, takes iodine tablets, and turns off the ventilation.
The Belgian government has already made considerable investments in defense:
- A new air defense system is being purchased to protect Belgian airspace, the ports, and the capitals . The new F35 fighter jets are also a serious expansion of the Belgian Air Force's combat power.
- Belgium is being forced to face the reality of drone warfare and is responding at an accelerated pace with an anti-drone plan and the purchase of counter-drone equipment.
- The combat power of the Navy is being sharpened again with new frigates and expanded cooperation with the Dutch and French navies.
- The ammunition stock for the Belgian armed forces is being replenished again. More soldiers, new aircraft, and armored vehicles. Attention to civil protection and reservists.
- The Belgian defense industry is being supported again with investments in weapons production.
- There is a new Federal emergency plan. The provisional solution for a nuclear threat where everyone must take shelter wherever they can is certainly not suitable for everyone. There are plans to use underground garages as shelters, but this is not yet fully developed, and there will certainly be a follow-up to this...
Hybrid attacks on Europe
Hybrid attacks on Europe are gradually becoming predictable. The Russians are taking off the gloves, and more and more sabotage operations are being carried out in Europe. The Russian GRU Unit 29155 is supported by other sabotage groups, and it is now actually arson and the destruction of critical infrastructure.
Drones have become the projectiles of today! They are much more efficient than cannons or mortars. They are easily available, they can easily be equipped with a bomb, and they can be deployed in swarms to cause a lot of damage. Warnings are already coming from airports, military installations, fuel storage facilities, and toxic chemical storage facilities. Simple solutions such as disrupting the control signal are no longer efficient. Kinetic anti-drone weapons to shoot drones out of the sky, drone interceptors, and powerful microwave beam weapons still offer some protection against modern drones.
The Russian defense industry has focused on the production of the most efficient drones. Russia has not signed a single weapons agreement, such as the agreement against landmines or against autonomous drones. Such agreements have made the strong countries even stronger and the weaker countries even weaker. There is once again a technical evolution underway with AI-controlled and autonomous drones.
It is not new that Russia supports terrorism and tries to encourage extremist organizations to sow unrest in Europe. Young people are also being approached to commit crimes. Although young people have little experience using firearms, with video games, drone flight simulators, and 3D printers, they can be turned into an efficient destabilizing force. Serious crimes and sabotage by young people between the ages of 14 and 16 are to be expected. The violent aggressive reactions of young people under the age of 14, who set fires and fire fireworks at law enforcement and emergency services on New Year's Eve 2026, should be a wake-up call.
Banks in the Netherlands advise their customers to keep some cash at home in the event of a cyberattack on their payment systems. There could be cyberattacks in which hackers shut down banks, telephone, water, and electricity companies, strategic businesses, and hospitals. Fears are growing that hackers could attack the system of pumps and sluices in the Netherlands, which could cause large parts of the Netherlands to flood. Be prepared for the failure of banks, shops, water, and electricity. Where will you go if the sluices overflow? Do you have a backpack ready with everything you need to survive in an emergency camp, sports hall, or aid post?
Security services are well aware that radio jammers and jammers can be activated by Russian secret services, which could disrupt radio communication with their security agents.
The cutting of undersea cables by ships commissioned by Russia are considered actions of the Russian Navy. The NATO naval forces are now organized and protect the areas where strategic cables lie underwater.
Organized terrorism. In the past, it has already been shown that Russia also had a hand in certain terrorist organizations. Terrorist attacks by ISIS or by criminal organizations through payments from Russia can no longer be ruled out. After the deadly shooting in Sydney, ISIS called for attacks in Belgium.
Manipulating information, fake news, or encouraging extremist organizations that undermine the protection of Europe or the European defense industry is a form of hybrid attack. AI-generated fake news, video, and social media are becoming a powerful weapon for the Russians in this regard.
There are already more sabotage attacks, and many more are expected! It was not logical that European weapons supplies were not attacked. The hybrid attacks look more and more like real military attacks. Now that various European companies are making their workplaces in Europe available for Ukrainian defense companies to produce weapons, they form a new target for saboteurs on the European continent. The Estonian Foreign Minister warns that Russian detainees who have fought on the front line in Ukraine will be sent to Europe to cause chaos and commit attacks. European security services report that the Russian Wagner Group is now being used by the Kremlin to commit sabotage in Europe. Very recently, Russian ex-president Dmitri Medvedev threatened a direct attack on German weapons factories.
Belgium has appointed a "drone general," and drone warfare is now a general topic in European defense.

The Belgian army has already invested heavily in an anti-drone detection system and the neutralisation of hostile drones, but the concept of the resilience of the Belgian population has not yet further adapted to the changes on today's drone battlefield after the emergency kit. (emergency kits with bulletproof and stab-resistant vests are available). More attention is being paid to the Russian FPV drones that attack unarmed civilians and these attacks are considered war crimes. Civilians are not yet being prepared for possible attacks by small autonomous drones with spring-loaded charges. The fear of drones among the Belgian population is increasing.

Anti-drone emergency kit Belgium 72 h survival during drone attack
Citizen reaction (resilience)
A number of people are afraid of those unknown drones. Personal protection and emergency kits are coming back into focus.
If those drones carry explosives over Belgium, we have a problem!

Anti-drone protection shrapnel-resistant clothing
NATO troops not ready for drone warfare.
It seems that the NATO leadership has not kept pace with the era in which warfare is evolving at lightning speed. A few years ago, reports were already emerging that the military training given in Europe was inadequate for soldiers on the front line in Ukraine?
During the NATO exercise Hedgehog 2025 in Estonia, there was objective training and 10 experienced Ukrainian drone pilots were allowed to attack a large NATO force of 16,000 men with dozens of armored vehicles.
This made it painfully clear that in reality the NATO force is completely unequipped and unprepared for a real drone war like the one being carried out by the Russians today. The positive thing is that important lessons were learned but those lessons are not yet reaching the top of the NATO forces. The only soldiers who did well were the French Special Forces who were each equipped with a ghillie camouflage suit, so that the drones could not see the French soldiers from the air.
Drones are the projectiles of today on the battlefield. They are much more efficient than cannons or mortars. No one is going to enter a building anymore without first letting a reconnaissance drone scout a building and blow up the enemy present. Technically, we are even far enough to let a swarm of fully autonomous drones attack an entire area.
Actually, every NATO soldier on the front line should have an FPV drone and a kinetic anti-drone weapon with adapted clothing such as infrared-reflecting equipment and an adapted ghillie camouflage suit.
Dutch anti-drone challenge
Due to the variety of threatening drones, the Netherlands is looking for a variety of anti-drone means and the government has issued an "anti-drone challenge" where Dutch companies can develop their vision and innovations to combat the different types of drones. Most innovations in drones were also developed by small companies in Russia and later taken over by the large state-owned companies.
Also in the field of firearms and ammunition, a new company Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments (AIA) is active to once again make weapons and ammunition in the Netherlands.
Belgium is less open-minded and Flanders is still struggling with the Walloon arms monopoly. The interpretation of the Belgian Arms Act in Flanders is holding back the defense industry while the interpretation of the Belgian Arms Act in Wallonia is supporting the Walloon defense industry too much.
Protection for police and security guards.

The bulletproof vests for police are already resistant to Kalashnikov rifles but are in the dark blue color. The same bulletproof vests can also be ordered in a black color, which are then suitable for security guards and security. There are new covers for old bulletproof vests available if the old vests cannot carry harder bulletproof plates. The Mercury plate carrier class 4 ICW can be worn over a standard bulletproof vest as protection against war weapons.
Police services are doing their best not to impose extreme and typical Belgian technical requirements on their bulletproof vests. If one makes it too difficult, only one manufacturer will be able to make these vests and if this one cannot deliver, then one cannot go anywhere else.
For security guards, it is legally mandatory to have a first aid kit with you. Some police officers also have a small first aid kit with them.
For the general public, we recommend a discreet bulletproof vest as general protection against knife stabs, bullets, grenade fragments or bomb fragments to be better protected against terrorist attacks or drone attacks.
We point out again that in a crisis situation all bulletproof vests in the wholesale will be reserved by the government and that as a citizen you will find it very difficult to obtain a bulletproof vest. A bulletproof vest and helmet belong in your emergency kit!

The Dual use stab and bulletproof vest MT-PRO 3A(06) GEN 7 or the slightly thinner protection FLEX-PRO 3A(06). Also the sturdy Patrol vest or the Rhino can be worn discreetly under clothing.

In case of emergency, these vests can be upgraded to class 4 with hard bulletproof plates against Kalashnikov rifles.

As protection against war or terrorist attack, we recommend a fullworthy bulletproof vest with helmet that you can now obtain with a free emergency kit 72 hours included. See also our

For parents with small children, there are also bulletproof T-shirts. These are unknown to children and therefore come across as normal clothing, so that fears in children are avoided when these T-shirts are seen. There are two protection levels in this, the NIJ-2 comfort which is more appreciated by women and the Flex-Pro NIJ-3A(06) which offers higher protection.

We notice that there is more demand for bulletproof vests for children. It makes sense that children are also protected by a bulletproof vest if they go with their parents who also wear a bulletproof vest. Some of our bulletproof vests in size XSmall can be used for the protection of children from the age of 6 to 7 years and a height of minimum 1.25m. The Extra Small bulletproof vest can then be adjusted to the size of the child by placing the Velcro closures at the minimum. As the child grows, the closure can then be opened more, so that the vest can be used for several years.

As protection against arson in department stores, there are also several types of fire-resistant clothing available that can protect you against serious burns. An aramid undershirt can prevent the clothing from burning into the skin and thus limit the percentage of burned skin, so that the chance of surviving serious burns is greater.

Link to Stab-resistant and cut-resistant clothing
Cut-resistant clothing does not only protect against knife cuts. The strong cut-resistant fabric also offers you a degree of protection against shrapnel from grenades or bomb fragments from FPV drones. Given that 80% of the wounded in a war fall by shrapnel from an explosion, cut-resistant and shrapnel-resistant clothing can increase your resilience.

Cut- and shrapnel-resistant combat pants
Very many images of soldiers with severe injuries to their feet and legs are coming from Ukraine. Hand grenades or bombs that are dropped by drones fall to the ground and explode close to the ground, so that they cause serious injuries to the legs of soldiers and civilians. In response to this, cut-resistant, stab-resistant and shrapnel-resistant pants are available that can significantly limit the injuries caused by flying shrapnel.
New ideas about personal protection are emerging.

Link to blog about new threats
There have already been reports of more 9x19mm armor-piercing bullets with steel cores being found in criminal environments, and it could also be a form of hybrid warfare. Russian military ammunition in the calibers 7.62x25mm, 9mm Makarov, 9x19mm and 9x21mm Russian is equipped with a steel core that can penetrate the soft body armor of police or security guards. To stop this steel-core ammunition, hard body armor plates are required. The current NIJ-3A, HO1 or HO2 ballistic protection level for personal protection must be upgraded to at least NIJ-3+.

Super-light class 3+ PGD S-LW-ICW+ ballistic plate

This can be achieved by adding extra NIJ-3+ ICW ballistic plates to an existing body armor vest or by using NIJ-3+ Stand Alone plates in a plate carrier. A class 4 vest provides even heavier protection. This will also become a necessity for emergency services in the very near future. New saboteurs from Russia will not use old soft lead-core ammunition, but new steel-core ammunition!
President Trump and the consequences in the post-Iran-war era
Things have not been going well between the Trump administration and Europe for some time.
The American ambassadors in the various European countries have been tasked with importing the Trump vision, and there have already been several clashes with European governments, including in France, Poland, and also in Belgium.
The threat made by Trump against other NATO countries such as Denmark and Canada will not soon be forgotten in Europe. These are not empty threats that could one day become reality.
American troops are being withdrawn or relocated closer to the Russian border. This is causing resentment in some countries. It is logical that Europe does not have high-tech weapon systems, but Europe must be able to man its own infrastructure with European troops.
The Trump administration is once again exerting heavy pressure on European countries to invest more in defense so that they can face a confrontation with multiple adversaries at the same time. The war with Iran has made it clear that high-tech weapon systems are depleted very quickly and cannot be replenished quickly.
Russia has specialized in simplifying weapon systems so that they can be produced quickly and in large quantities. Europe must also have its share of heavy weapon systems available or produce them to become a military power again.
All European countries already have a Plan B ready in case Trump leaves NATO but for the moment President Trump has his hands full with his war in Iran.
Trump's unpredictability is fueling Putin's aggression, and several countries on Europe's northern flank are taking far-reaching measures to protect and prepare their populations. Shooting training for civilians in Poland and Norway reports that the government can requisition all goods for the military if something dramatic were to happen. We point out that we offer advanced war emergency kits in our store with numerous items to help you survive in an emergency situation, whether from a hybrid or military threat. In an emergency, the government will requisition all useful survival products for the military and police from wholesalers, leaving nothing available for civilians! Be prepared and make sure you have a comprehensive emergency kit!

The American F35 Lightning II fighter jet is once again under scrutiny because all software updates are in unreliable American hands, but even with only 80% of its electronic capabilities, the F35 fighter jet is still better than all other old European fighter jets because it is virtually invisible to enemy radars. The Belgian Government has decided to proceed with the order of 11 new F35 fighter jets because this is a request from NATO and because there is no alternative with similar performance. The F35 program does not have a technical problem, but it does have a Trump problem.
By now, there are already several European projects to develop a new 6th generation fighter jet, but those projects have been enormously delayed. Belgium rightly chose the F35 Lightning II, the first of which were delivered in 2025 and the rest will be delivered in 2027. Fortunately, Belgium chose the F35, otherwise we would have been without modern fighter jets for the next 15 years. Just as Orban lost his power overnight, Trump's threat could also disappear overnight! Both England and Germany are considering purchasing even more F35 aircraft.
Due to the Trump threat to Europe questions are once again being asked about the European F35 fleet. A Plan B is gradually taking shape in the form of another European fleet of modernized Eurofighter fighter jets, which, like the modernized American F15EX, are sturdy workhorses in the air. Spain is canceling its option for F35 fighter jets and choosing modernized Eurofighter fighter jets, sending a clear signal towards a stronger European aerospace industry.
Morocco is making heavy investments in its defense industry and armed forces. The Trump administration considers Morocco an African launchpad. Morocco's behavior and the refugee flow to Spain are a European concern.
France is quietly preparing itself as a European leader that is militarily independent from the United States and has its own nuclear military arsenal. There are already agreements with several European countries that are working together on a French nuclear umbrella so that a European supplement to the (doubtful) American nuclear protection is created. France stations nuclear weapons in several European countries but retains control over the use of the nuclear weapons.
Germany has a number of large strategic American bases on its territory and wants to become the strongest country within Europe with its large defense industry, but is politically quite unstable. The extremely far-right political party AfD is gaining strength and sympathizes with Russia.
The NATO has agreed with President Trump on a larger presence in the Arctic region and a permanent presence in Greenland.
Europe has shown great unity and solidarity when it was under great pressure from Trump. As criticism, Europe gets that it talks far too much but does very little. President Zelensky also receives criticism despite receiving billions in support from Europe. The Ukrainian President Zelensky is very grateful to Europe, but made a number of well-founded remarks at Davos that fell on deaf ears with many. The fact is that with euros alone you cannot yet shoot back at the Russians. Ukraine needs military hardware!
The rearmament of Europe is moving at a snail's pace. Although Mark Rutte praises the defense industry, there is still a question as to why production is so slow. Only a few industrial sites were expanded with a fairly limited production capacity in the hands of existing weapon companies, while no general production was set up. Weapon production in Europe is too dependent on politics and industrial monopolies and not on military oversight and organization.
Although Mark Rutte as NATO Secretary-General has done an excellent job of keeping NATO and Trump together, criticism of his pro-Trump stance in Europe is increasing. Mark Rutte is a master at defusing dangerous situations between NATO and Trump, but after Trump's threat against a European NATO member, Denmark, with a possible military invasion of Greenland, even the Belgian Prime Minister is no longer convinced whether Trump is still an ally of Europe? Mark Rutte points out the fact that Trump has made NATO stronger and radiates boundless confidence in Trump, but because Trump threatened Europe with military violence, confidence in America has been seriously damaged.
There is a growing desire among many European countries to also have a European pillar within NATO or a kind of standing European troop force under a European Security Council independent of the Americans. A European troop force with European weapons that cannot be disabled at the snap of the Americans' fingers. The fact that American President Trump threatened another NATO country with military violence for weeks is a red line that was crossed for many European countries and on which a military response must be found. A number of European leaders do not agree with Mark Rutte's attitude that Europe cannot defend itself and must just keep dreaming. Even the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen reacts with "Dear Mark, there are several levels up to which Europe can defend itself". Maybe not 100% but more every day...
America remains the largest military power and Europe will bite back when it is really under pressure.
Several European countries are withdrawing their gold reserves from American banks because of the unpredictable behavior of American President Trump. This is a financial signal that European banks no longer trust America and the Trump administration, causing the dollar to weaken.
As a result of the American trade war and Trump's military threat to attack a European country, Europe is looking for other trade partners and is closing a mega-trade deal with India. The Trump administration is dissatisfied and wonders why, after the American threats, Europe is looking for other friendlier trade partners. Large trade agreements were made with South America, India, and Canada.
Europe and Ukraine
Ukraine's accession to the European Union and NATO is still being opposed by a number of countries. The fact is that Ukraine now has the most experience in defending itself against Russian aggression and protection against drones. The Ukrainian armed forces are now helping NATO with realistic training in modern drone warfare and are also helping the European weapons industry prepare better for a war industry. There is thus broader cooperation between Europe and Ukraine.
Peace in Ukraine
Hard work is being done to bring a ceasefire and peace to Ukraine, but it is becoming increasingly clear that this is pointless. Putin has by now openly declared that he will not give up his ideals. Moscow would be too close to the new borders with NATO, and accepting this would be a strategic defeat. Actually, Russia does not have all the territories in hand to secure Moscow. The Russian attacks on Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv have failed in the past.
To achieve peace, President Zelensky would have to cede large parts of Ukraine to the Russians, but even then it is doubtful whether Putin only wants a buffer zone in Ukraine. Peace negotiations make no sense without the capitulation of the Ukrainian army.
Russia is expanding its war economy and rebuilding its material losses, much more than they would need to win the war in Ukraine. What's more, these new weapons have become more modern and are not even going to the front in Ukraine. Putin keeps the battlefield warm with old Soviet weapons and sends his newest weapons to the NATO eastern flank and threatens the Baltic states with a new troop buildup.
A victory of Putin in Ukraine would clear the way for an attack on Europe. The European countries realize that they must continue to support Ukraine because they are not ready for a direct war with the Russians. If the war is not fought in Ukraine, then it will be fought on the European continent. A number of European countries see this as being of strategic importance to pin the Russian army in Ukraine and supply Ukraine with their own modern weapons that they take from their own national military stock.
Predictions and hypotheses
To what extent predictions are credible, let us leave aside, but several seers speak of an assassination attempt on Russian President Putin and the outbreak of a war in Europe. An assassination attempt on Putin would happen because people think Putin is too weak and do not dare to reach for nuclear weapons. The takeover by a crazy Russian general would lead to a (limited) nuclear conflict in Europe.
Russia, North Korea, Iran, and China
The war in Ukraine is no longer regionally limited. Russia unites its allies North Korea, Iran, and China into a military cooperation. The Chinese defense strategy, where hybrid warfare against the West has actually been waged for years, and their military buildup with preparations for a military conflict are becoming clearer and clearer. Both economic activities, trade, and the accelerated large-scale expansion of their military capabilities are part of the Chinese defense strategy. China has drawn the production of a large part of the strategic goods to itself while Europe paid no attention to it. The military exercises and preparations can be seen via satellite, with the consequence that the Americans are also preparing for a military conflict with China. It is expected that the Russian and Chinese cooperation will be further expanded and strengthened.
It is clear that America can only limit itself to a military conflict in the Middle East and the South China Sea. In the war with Iran, the American weapon stockpiles have shrunk so much that they already fear a shortage of weapons if a military conflict breaks out between Russia and NATO. The stockpile of high-tech weapons is so small and the production time is long. Europe has only a small stockpile of high-tech weapons.
A further conflict with the Russians will have to be fought by the Europeans. That is why the third world war is coming closer and closer.
Opening of a second front with an attack on Eastern Europe
The Baltic states, Finland, and Poland point to the large troop buildup on NATO's eastern flank and warn that Russian forces are now ready to open a second front. The "little green men" who previously captured Crimea are also appearing at the border with Estonia. An attack on NATO's eastern flank would halt the supply of weapons to Ukraine and give the Russians a chance to defeat the Ukrainian army.

Red line as the minimum reaction time to be able to protect Moscow against attacks by NATO. Yellow line is the desired reaction time to be able to protect Russia against NATO
This immediately makes it clear what is going on. Northern Ukraine, eastern Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia are just as dangerous for Moscow as Ukraine and are too close to Moscow. They pose a strategic threat to the Russians that, according to them, must be neutralized. It is desirable for the Russians to have control over an even larger part of the NATO eastern flank. At the same time, Poland as a NATO country is the strongest country that can offer the most resistance and logically should be targeted first. Romania is another NATO country that poses a threat to the Russians. Recent Russian drone incidents over Poland and Romania indicate that Ukraine is not Putin's end goal.
Opening a second front in Eastern Europe does not have to be large-scale right away. A number of aggressive border violations in the Baltic states would already immediately lead to a kind of panic reaction within NATO and provoke a large troop buildup on the Eastern Flank. This would cause a large European supply of weapons to the Eastern Flank of Europe and halt the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
Recent violations of NATO airspace by Russian fighter jets and drones, along with the construction of several secret drone bases for long-range drones, already make it immediately clear that the entire NATO Eastern Flank can be targeted by Russian drones. The number of drone incidents is increasing and the confrontation with NATO forces is escalating.
Is Russia too weak to open a second front?
- The Western propaganda that the Russians are without weapons is completely unfounded, especially because the Russians are supported with weapons and even with troops from Iran, North Korea, and China. Every week a new record is broken for the number of drones fired at Ukraine.
- The propaganda that Russia can no longer survive economically is nonsense. The Russian population will adapt to the difficult economic conditions and the inconveniences, supporting the motherland. Russians are extremely patriotic!
- The large number of Russian casualties has little effect on Putin. First, Putin denies responsibility for those casualties, and Russia has different standards than Europe. In the Battle of Stalingrad, 1.1 million Russian casualties fell just to retake one city!
- The Russian army is innovating and is far advanced with new drones, new missiles, and new tanks. The Russian army that people still know is the old Soviet army.
Opening of a third front on the Russian Kola Peninsula

The Russian threat in the Arctic region is mainly due to the many nuclear bases on the Kola Peninsula where the Russian nuclear submarine fleet and the Russian nuclear ballistic missiles are stationed.
Norway fears that Russia could open a third front because there are very many military bases in northern Norway, which can first detect the Russian nuclear submarines and ballistic nuclear missiles. The Russian nuclear submarines coming from the Kola Peninsula and wanting to sail to the Atlantic Ocean are vulnerable in the narrow passage between the Arctic ice and the northern coast of Norway.
Norway fears that the Russians will invade the Norwegian border to overpower the military installations that can damage the Russian nuclear submarines and ballistic nuclear missiles. The Russian nuclear submarines would aim to sail from the Kola Peninsula along the Norwegian coast via the northern coast of England and Ireland and also via the North Sea to the Atlantic Ocean, where they could cut off Europe from American military logistical support.
Given that Finland has become a member of NATO, they now have the longest border with Russia. A huge Russian troop buildup along the Finnish border is to be expected.
Nuclear attack and war in Belgium
Once the NATO eastern flank is involved in a war with the Russians, all of Europe will become a target, where European energy and transport infrastructure will become the victim of sabotage actions. If Russia can no longer master the situation on the battlefield with conventional weapons, there is a high chance that tactical nuclear weapons will be used.
- Belgium is a central transit point within Europe and the strategic locations can be attacked.
- The Belgian Army is active in NATO context on the Eastern Flank and they can inflict a painful blow on the Russians with modern weapons, which can have a counter-reaction in Belgium as a result.
- Belgium is also a financial center that stores Russian money. Seizing those Russian assets can cause a military reaction.
Belgium makes itself wise that no Russian tanks will drive through Brussels and pretends that Belgium has never experienced a battlefield. (The Battle of Waterloo, The Battle of the Somme, The Battle of the Ardennes) while Russian, North Korean, and Chinese soldiers are fighting at the edge of Europe with Iranian weapons. All Leopard tanks that Europe has donated to Ukraine have now been reduced to scrap. Drones and drone motherships are the current weapons that can reach Brussels and can even be deployed completely autonomously. Do not forget that during the Cold War Russia had a plan to conquer Europe by first attacking the largest European countries with nuclear weapons and Brussels was one of those nuclear targets.
It was proposed that Russia could go to war with NATO within 5 years. Recent reports from intelligence services see a large troop buildup on the eastern border with NATO. According to the German intelligence service, Russia is ready with the troop buildup and can now carry out an attack on Estonia, Finland, and the Baltic states. The longer Russia waits with an attack, the stronger the NATO eastern flank becomes.
The large troop buildup on the Eastern Flank of NATO was to be expected, but with threatening language from Belarus, it also points out that the ideal period to attack Europe will be in 2026-2027 when Europe is still fully engaged in expanding its defense and is not yet ready for war. Within three to four years, NATO will be so strong that a Russian attack on Europe will no longer have a chance of success.
With the current escalation of Russian hybrid warfare, Germany is especially being pressured with sabotage attacks on the electricity grid and aviation. Belgium together with the other NATO countries supports Germany's resistance against the Russian threat. The Belgian electricity network is very vulnerable and actually one only needs to attack a small number of nodes in the high-voltage network to put all of Belgium in the dark or in the cold. Also consider that a prolonged power outage will have severe consequences for industry and food production. Are you ready with your emergency kit to survive a power outage of several days this winter? Check the expiration date of your canned goods! Do you have an emergency stove at home to prepare some warm food? Belgium and many other European countries are working together on the French nuclear umbrella. A nuclear attack on Belgium would be answered with a French European nuclear counterattack, making nuclear deterrence credible again.
Exodus
If there is a serious chance of a nuclear war in which capitals like London, Berlin, Paris, and Brussels would be hit, then an exodus of refugees will arise who will flee these countries. For Belgium and the Netherlands, that escape route will go south via Southern France, Switzerland, and Italy to the Mediterranean Sea and from there towards North Africa. A part of these refugees will go to Spain and Portugal and further to Morocco. Given the drought in North Africa, a part of the Belgians will also go to Congo to survive the nuclear winter in Europe. There are no known preparations where the Belgian government would guide the fleeing Belgians or help increase drinking water and food production in the south of Europe or in Africa. Belgium is still active in support of Congo.
National Crisis Center in Belgium
Belgium has a National Crisis Center where all kinds of advice on different emergency situations is given. The page Your own emergency plan can be of vital importance if a serious threat arises. There is a new National Emergency Plan at Defense, but concrete measures such as a bunker plan are not yet known publicly.
Think ahead in the Netherlands
In addition to the impressive investments in defense, the Dutch government also has a page online with all kinds of information how you can prepare yourself for a crisis. and what to do in case of a nuclear accident. The Netherlands brings a information booklet out on how to prepare yourself for an emergency situation.
Russian attack from the North Sea
The attack with the new Russian Oresjnik hypersonic missile is actually no longer a surprise. The use of the Iranian Shahed drones are just pinpricks that mainly make the population in Kiev and other cities afraid. It can get much worse for Kiev if the Russians fire heavy ballistic long-range missiles at the city. To what extent the Oresjnik hypersonic missiles could be intercepted over Europe is not yet clear.
A Russian attack from the North Sea has a better chance of success. Although Belgium and the Netherlands are working hard on a new navy to repel a Russian attack, it can still take a few years before the new frigates and air defense are ready.
A Russian submarine is limping home and sailing close to the coast of the European countries. To what extent this situation can be considered merely a technical defect is still unclear, but the fact is that a Russian submarine with an excuse can easily sail close to the European coast and in less than one minute fire its 24 strategic missiles before a European patrol ship can react to this.
Maybe no old Russian tanks will drive through Brussels, but the Ukrainian "Spider’s web" drone attack proves that one will have to be more spatially aware in the future. It is very easy to equip a Russian or Chinese container ship with thousands of drones and then release them off the Belgian coast.
Future of NATO
The heated atmosphere within NATO about Greenland has already cooled down a bit through actions and dialogue within the involved NATO countries. The new heated atmosphere through the American attack on Iran is further opening the crack in the relationship between Europe and America.
The fact is that the threats from Russia and China are serious and there is also a serious response sought within NATO.
The Trump administration is putting great pressure on Europe with both economic and military threats to prompt the Europeans to invest faster and more in defense.
America wants its European allies to become stronger and stand up for their own safety. The main threat for America is China in the Indo Pacific and Russia in the Arctic region.
The harsh American threats against Europe are interpreted in some countries such that America already comes as a threat in the second place after Russia.
NATO is strongly expanding its military capabilities and is doing this still together with America, but Europe gets more responsibility for its own defense. A part of the Europeans no longer trust the Trump Administration after the repeated threats of military intervention against Greenland and Denmark.
The idea of a European Defense Union with focus on European defense industry and joint military purchases is a realistic scenario.
An alternative European nuclear strike force based on the French nuclear force and French fighter jets is also a realistic scenario.
The threats from America to Europe make NATO weaker through the great division. Europe faces a big challenge, because the naive pacifism that caused the under-arming in Europe is not gone. The division within NATO becomes larger with a group of strong reliable countries that take defense seriously and another group that are unpredictable.
Equipment for volunteers.
If a bunker plan comes in Belgium or the Netherlands, then volunteers will also be needed for that to get everything in good order. An expansion of the volunteers of the civil protection, reservists, stewards,… For these emergency responders, special equipment will have to be provided.

Highly visible bulletproof vests for stewards and emergency responders
but if saboteurs are active in the major cities with Kalashnikov rifles one needs at least a class 3+ or class 4 plate carrier. This also already exists in emergency responder version.

Medic plate carrier class 4 against assault rifles

Multicam bulletproof plate carriers class 4
There are already plans in some countries to enlist sport shooters who have licensed weapons as reservists. It is estimated that 1/3 of sport shooters could be eligible for this. The purpose of these reservists would then be to take over the guard duties of the professional soldiers. In Belgium, about 15,000 sport shooters would then be eligible to become reservists in this way.
What color uniform will those reservists wear? Multicam is an American patent for which an extra fee must be paid. Woodland is widely available among the population and is not under a patent, making the supply larger and cheaper.
