The CAT turnstile or also called Emergency turnstile is now the most used  tourniquet in the world. Virtually all NATO countries use this Combat Application turnstile as permanent equipment for their soldiers. The Dutch and Belgian army and various police services and the Arrest Teams have now switched to the purchase of the CAT turnstile. The CAT-T was developed after a study showed that, in violent conflicts, the main cause of death among the "preventable deaths" was death from exsanguination or exsanguination

In the current military operations, soldiers are mainly confronted by attacks with “Improvised Explosive Devices” (IEDs). These attacks are often accompanied by several heavy (arterial) hemorrhages in the limbs of an injured person, where the head, chest, abdomen and back are often well protected.

Even in a firefight there is a 70% chance that an arm or leg will be hit. It is then very important to stop a heavy bleeding at an early stage before you fall unconscious and bleed out. Due to the one-handed ease of use, the CAT-T can also be applied by the injured person himself. After all, with a CAT on you can still protect yourself or bring yourself to safety. A huge number of soldiers owe their lives to this tourniquet. It is not at all an exaggerated luxury to have two CATs in your first aid kit against IED injuries!
